Volunteer with UnitingCare Ballarat
Volunteering is an excellent way of making a difference in your local community. UnitingCare Ballarat offers you a range of opportunities to participate in a broad range of programs, events and activities supporting people across the Ballarat and Ararat communities.
We match your skills and experience with your areas of interest and available roles. In donating your time, skills, knowledge and networks you will meet some great people and have a lot of fun while assisting to make a positive change enabling people to overcome disadvantage and empower them to build better futures.
Throughout our history, we have been extremely fortunate having the support of a generous, enthusiastic and dedicated volunteer base. Without the skills, interests and energy of our volunteers, we could not provide our community programs and continue to expand our work to help people in need.
Below is a list of our programs and services:
Community Connections (for the frail aged & people with disAbilities)
Do Care (Ballarat & Ararat): Volunteers will be matched to person who is aged or has a disability that lives independently and experiences social isolation, and will visit them in their own home and provide regular outings and social activities. Do Care requires volunteers that not only can visit people in their home, but also to drive the 12-seater on outings.(Urgent need for volunteers for the above programs)
Community Transport (Ballarat & Ararat):Volunteers will provide supported transport for the frail aged or people who have a disability, either a door-to-door service to medical appointments, to visit friends or go shopping (unattended), OR as group support (car or bus) to social activities and outings.(Urgent need for volunteers for the above programs)
Community Visitor Scheme: Volunteers will be matched with a resident in an aged care facility, either in Ballarat or Ballan, and would visit regularly to enrich the quality of the resident’s life by having a visit from a friend.
