Uniting together on 1 July
UnitingCare Ballarat is joining with 21 separate Uniting Church community services agencies to form a new, single organisation across Victoria and Tasmania called Uniting.
Responding to changing needs.
Australia’s welfare sector is undergoing enormous change in order to meet increasing and changing community needs. Significant reforms are taking place nationally, designed to give people more choice, more control and easier access to community services. This includes roll out of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and consumer directed care in aged care.
In light of changing policy and funding and an increasingly competitive environment, the decision to merge with like-minded organisations, all embodying the ethos of compassion and care, provides the best opportunity for UnitingCare Ballarat to continue our important work in the community for many years to come.
Together we can do more.
This is an important and positive change, and at the heart of it is delivering the best possible outcomes for people, now and in the future.
Moving from a network of agencies to form one organisation will give us access to broader resources and expertise to meet our clients’ individual goals, and a stronger voice to advocate on their behalf.
And it allows us to maintain a strong local presence in the communities we have been part of for many years.
UnitingCare Ballarat has transitioned to Uniting as of 1 July 2017.
Uniting (Victoria/Tasmania) Limited was established on 3 October 2016. As of this day, one Board of Directors unifies each of the 22 founding agencies – the first step towards our collective future.
UnitingCare Ballarat and our 21 sister agencies, along with two Uniting Church business units, are now in the process of transitioning to a unified organisation structure.
From July 2017 you will start to see the new Uniting brand being used in communications about our services and programs.
Our commitment remains the same.
We will continue to work closely with clients and offer local services that meet community needs.
We remain as active as ever in the Ballarat community – delivering the same quality services in the same locations, with the same professional staff and commitment to care.
We still need your support.
We will continue to provide the services in the community that you care about, ensuring your support continues to make a real difference to people’s lives.
Your generous support of our work, through donations and volunteering, is still very much needed as we go forward as one organisation from July.
